Iban Ifiok Foundation celebrated 2024 International Women's Day with the theme: "Inspire Inclusion". The event was held on March 9th, 2024, at the Iban Ifiok office, and girls from different schools and communities from various schools and communities in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, were in attendance.
Inclusion is a universal human right that aims to accept, welcome, and embrace all individuals, regardless of their race, gender, disability, medical or other needs. Inclusion requires efforts and practices to ensure that individuals or groups with different backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted and treated equally. Therefore, "inspire inclusion" means celebrating the diversity and empowerment of women in all aspects of society.
During the event, the attendees created storyboards illustrating their definitions of womanhood. They also shared stories about women who have positively inspired and invested in their lives, helping them reach their full potential. These stories demonstrated how women's definitions of womanhood and the people who inspire them are unique to each individual.
